Hi! What were you doing 5 minutes ago, 5 days ago and 5 years ago? I hope you remember the macro level things that you were performing, if not the granular ones. But here we are not questioning what, we are questioning why. If 5 years ago you were studying, then why were you studying? If you were doing your job, then why were you doing your job? If your idea of life is like, birth-study-job-marriage-kids-retire-and-wait-for-death, with condiments of some fun, love and tragedy, then let me ask you – do you find anything missing? No? Okay, if everybody sticks to this plan, what are we gonna achieve, as the so called most intelligent race of this planet are we gonna produce 6.5 billion look alike mannequins. What separates you from a mannequin? I tell you what, a mannequin has a purpose. Its purpose is to be a showpiece. It might show how a particular dress might look when you wear it. And the amazing news is, you even don’t have that purpose. You see millions of look-alikes walking past you, along you, just like mannequins on a roller belt. If you are offended, you’d be yelling at me now “I am not a fuckin’ mannequin, I’ll jump off the roller belt”. You never do, barely a few hundreds do. Barely a few hundreds would think that even if their collars are hanging on a golden hook, it a bloody hook! Barely a few hundreds would even think of jumping off that hook, because “wherever everybody is leading me isn’t where I want to be”. It is not just about jumping off, it is about knowing “why you are jumping off?”.  Why you should not be at the place you are and where you should be and why you should be there? Purpose!

Once in chemistry lab I put a beaker on Bunsen burner, and as I looked for water, it cracked due to heat. Once I was throwing a paper ball into the dustbin, it swung and hit my Physics lecturer. Once my class teacher asked me to rehearse a laugh for a play, I began laughing and didn't ever stop.

We all have had awkward, bad and ego crunching moments. The moments you recall and say I could have done that differently. But the clock is brisk, erase and amend features are not available. Before you think about the second gone by, another comes glaring in the eye. There's no way to escape or relax, you just have to get on with it. Life is long enough to regret and repent, 60-70 years is no way short. But that's not how you would like to put that away. You would like it to be filled with chapters you wish to read and re-read every now and then. For that, move on, just like a race driver does after a bad second, a bowler after a bad minute, a stock broker after a bad hour, a BPO executive after a bad day, an economist after a bad year.

A failure is joke if you wish to laugh, an oozing wound if you wish to hide. Don't try to suppress your bad moments. Rather, share those with the people you trust. On a weekend with your friends, you would love to tell how you tried to show your answer sheet to a pretty girl and got caught, than the exam you topped. Human memory is limited and hence selective when it marks as “to be cherished”.

I wondered, Why God works so passionately to create beauty around us ! Then I thought Why a man works so hard just to bring a present for his kid !

I lay on my bed with little sleep in my eyes,

Trying to sleep in this busy night…

A loudspeaker buzzing, and a roommate snoring,

A tender moon in my sight…

This post doesn’t have any video or poem attached with it. So if you are looking for entertainment please look into some other posts. There are many of them. What I am searching for today is an answer to a question that has been troubling me for quite some time now.

Take a little time, please turn back.

Simply Sachin

The moment came when Tendulkar tucked one bowled at his legs to square leg to cross the all time ODI high 194 of Great Pakistan opener Saeed Anwar that we all remember due to our addiction to those trump cards. Mark Boucher took a moment and congratulated the great player on his yet another achievement showcasing true sportsmanship. This was in sharp contast with what happened the previous over when Tendulkar received a mouthful from the lethal pacer Dale Steyn. A great batsman , a great bowler , a great fielder don’t make one a great cricketer . Tendulkar acknowledged the emotions of the World’s No.1 bowler smiled and stepped towards his crease. This is what Sachin is made of -great personality, great attitude. He makes me recall

I have seen god , he bats at No. 4 for India in tests
-Mathew Hayden

That’s why they cricket pundits say Sachin is the perfect PERSON to be idolized for cricket and everything else. After being starved for strike for a couple of overs due to Dhoni’s onslaught  Sachin finally got  2nd ball of 50th over to get 200* to his credit and register it to the heavy record books boasting of the glory of this great player.
Another interesting quote I recall about Sachin

We did not lose to a team called India...we lost to a man called Sachin.
-Mark Taylor
