SAVE HOCKEY

0 Opinions

My previous article for the Label:Causes was "Save Tiger" and here comes another one "Save Hockey". How ironical is it that both -our National Sport and National Animal are on verge of  "Extinction"... Do we actually care what the word "National" means here? Does this word sound pumping sometimes... If you ask for my opinion It would be more or less negative. I don't find people talking about "Nation" anymore, its value is always there though. But adding a mere tag to an animal or a sport doesn't really bother many. What matter is their essence..

I was amazed at the save our tiger initiative they said save our national animal...but none said save the charismatic beautiful creature.

Our national game Hockey is getting much better initiative , the attitude of board and players somehow diminish the efforts some day. But all in all the important part is that the game is being encouraged with large number of people extending their support . The cricket is a religion in this country but we've always been a secular state.

Dhyan Chand scored 101 goals at the Olympic games and 300 goals in other international matches and his record is unbroken.

One win here and there , a record or two will certainly boost  respect for the game. Immense pressure on the board and the players , for the world cup is being organised in the country and instead of celebrating the nation is busy with 'Save hockey' initiative. what we all need is to watch the game, give these guys who have slogged their youth for this game atleast this much respect and assurance that there are people cheering for their lads.

My request to all the visitors-"A mere forwarding of sms or a status on facebook are going to be of little significance if you don't cheer for being a part of the game itself ...

Never Say Save Hockey rather say Enjoy Hockey!!

200* | Sachin Tendulkar, First ODI Double Hundred, Gwalior

Simply Sachin

Sachin Tendulkar double hundred at gwalior

Nothing to choose between the two sides as per the Two Test match series as scores read as 1-1. The ODI series started off with an absolute nail biter with India just managing to clinch victory over the proteas  with mere one run. Thus, the series promised plenty of drama and excitement ahead. The star studded  Indian batting line-up was against a mighty pace bowling attack comprising of the likes of World’s No.1 Bowler Dale Steyn , In form Charl Lengeveldt, and fuming Wayne Parnell.

The match started as scheduled as umpire Ian Gould signaled play. The overwhelmed crowd at Gwalior was unaware of what it was about to witness. The crowd was stunned into silence as Star player Virender Sehwag lost his wicket to Wayne Parnell pretty early at an individual score of 9. The strong shoulders of the little master assumed responsibility to bat through the innings . Kartik, Yusuf, and the skipper Dhoni  complimented him well with impressive strike rates but the lime light was stolen by the champion . Sachin had reached his 46th ODI ton by the time I reached home, I regret I went to college. But I got the chance to see  another ton of runs.

Sachin as characteristic of him ran quick , made those elegant drives , powerful pulls, and those cuts behind square “so Sachin”. He made it look so ridiculously simple to bat on the batting paradise of Captain Roop Singh Stadium.
Saeed Anwar's 194 for a loss

The moment came when Tendulkar tucked one bowled at his legs to square leg to cross the all time ODI high 194 of Great Pakistan opener Saeed Anwar that we all remember due to our addiction to those trump cards. Mark Boucher took a moment and congratulated the great player on his yet another achievement showcasing true sportsmanship. This was in sharp contast with what happened the previous over when Tendulkar received a mouthful from the lethal pacer Dale Steyn. A great batsman , a great bowler , a great fielder don’t make one a great cricketer . Tendulkar acknowledged the emotions of the World’s No.1 bowler smiled and stepped towards his crease. This is what Sachin is made of -great personality, great attitude. He makes me recall

I have seen god , he bats at No. 4 for India in tests
-Mathew Hayden

That’s why they cricket pundits say Sachin is the perfect PERSON to be idolized for cricket and everything else. After being starved for strike for a couple of overs due to Dhoni’s onslaught  Sachin finally got  2nd ball of 50th over to get 200* to his credit and register it to the heavy record books boasting of the glory of this great player.
Another interesting quote I recall about Sachin

We did not lose to a team called India...we lost to a man called Sachin.
-Mark Taylor

When brutality paralyzes head..
The venomous lips yearn for blood..
The insanity of a wrecked mind makes the soul wander across the devastated lands scavenging for flesh...
The massive arms tremble in excitement to crunch through the ribs and explore the viscera..
The teeth drop venom on the ground..

The prey try to hide..The deep silence terrifies them as they wait to be slaughtered.. A little movement a little noise.. Too good to be ignored..

Only the smell of rotten meat and some dripping bones are left,a feast for the parasites..
Barbarous for some tranquility for soME..

EIGHTEENTH BIRTHDAY ! ! !

Several years you wait for one moment of your life.. THE DAY that should be destined to be all yours...
When you feel like the God of your world, your universe...
I am talking about THE EIGHTEENTH BIRTHDAY..
So many plans so many aspirations, the feeling is much more vivid than just being called an Adult.. You can legally drive a car or a bike, right to vote...and lot more petty and big things...

Is it all?
Not quite I suppose..as I recall a dialogue from the movie Spider Man.. With great powers comes great responsibilities..
You have to lead your terms, yourself to your destination..

If you know how to lead ,its fun..
If you don't you have to learn..

That's what a Guru or Spiritual leader will say to you....

Now WHAT I WISH TO SAY....
Gimme a break!!
For the moment, enjoy it to the maximum..

It's THE EIGHTEENTH BIRTHDAY, FIRST OF ALL...
Its my 18th b'day..
And my day has been brutally slaughtered by my exams... I had one this morning..and to add to my overflowing miseries, there are a couple more tomorrow...
I didn't have my dinner last night...slept at 10.30 to face an exam with virtually no preparation... I give these a damn care.. What I am most annoyed at is no bash , no party , nothing..

The only piece of joy I got was from my friends...who just made my day..my family isn't with me as of now due to a marriage of my cousin which I was very eager and excited for , but could not attend because of my exams..
My friends wished me luck, future and expressed their love and care so beautifully..that i am really touched.. They command so much respect, and love that is beyond words..
They are the only reason for my happiness.. I always was a lonely guy, and my old class mates know that pretty well... So, such warmth really pumps me up..not only for this B'day but for life... After few more years when we'll all part, I know when I'll flip those pages back , these moments will make me smile... I hope I too bring some smiles on your beautiful faces...
I love you all...

Thank you very much for being there...

Valentine Day

Language:

Woke up before sunrise,
Bathed with cold water..
Got ready and prayed to god
Then read namaaz..
Offered food, clothes and services to the poor..
Asked blessings from the elders,
Smsed all friends (male/female)
Wished them happy valentine’s day…

Don’t why people still say I don’t know how to celebrate Valentine’s day..
What can I do if I’ve been programmed like this only..
Plz help!

My Star

Here comes one for the valentine..........
A little early but You know i could not restrict myself  I have to share this one with you..
For a change it's an english one, for a change it is something lovely not sad

I know you are away and far,
The beautiful shining star..
Even though we are miles apart,
But I know you smile at me..
I can see in this dark,
You always twinkle at me..
I watch you all night long,
Away from all the chores..
Never dying never diminishing,
This love is such a force..
But why do u leave me so soon ?
Why fade away with the moon ??
I don't know where you go,
Without you I feel so low..
That's why I hate the sun,
Because I want you to come..
That's why I hate it when it rains,
It doesn't soothe me, it just pains..
When those clouds come in our way,
I just want them to run away..
The waiting is so much pain,
Tell me hurting me what you gain..
But the moment you come I forget all,
In your love I just fall..
A glimpse of you is enjoyment of eternity..
In this noisy world, a moment of serenity..

TIGER

Tiger....as soon as we hear this word...a picture of a wonderful, charismatic, strong, graceful creature comes to our mind.. They commanded respect, awe or fear from their human neighbors. . but now they look for CARE... The tiger is a powerful symbol of reverence among the variety of cultures that live across its range. Even in places where tigers have become extinct or never existed in the wild, they live in myth and legend

Poaching
The wild poaching of this wild animal has threatened its very existence on the planet.
Today, tigers are poisoned, shot, trapped and snared,
 for what ...? --Skin, bone...
to make a beautiful purse, or an articulate...That brings good beauty, good luck.
We dare to call ourselves humans...!!!Can slaughtering some living being cheer any God brighten your luck?
I don't think so..
Imagine a fellow of you being slaughtered for his bone...you would never be able to buy such a purse again..

Scenario
Today only 1411 are left in India, and just 3200 the world over. Can we imagine our nation without national animal . I can't. I certainly can't let it happen. It's something I can't ignore.
In the past century, the world has lost three of the nine tiger subspecies. The Bali, Caspian, and Javan tigers have all become extinct ... and many scientists believe the South China tiger is “functionally extinct”.

Consequence
As top predators, they keep populations of wild ungulates in check, thereby maintaining the balance between prey herbivores and the vegetation upon which they feed. A whole myriad of other life-forms are essential to support a healthy tiger population.
So, if we lose them , we are not only going to lose a beautiful creature but also are going to disturb the entire food chain. And as they say, every species on this earth is transient. A little disturbance to the ecological balance might hasten our demise. It is better late than never. Join “SAVE THE TIGER” initiative.

I ruined my own Name.
A wrecked body, devoid of soul,
Walking an abandoned road..
As I roar with my eyes,
To burn him in my fiery demise..

No wish to say,
No courage to hear..
Nothing to think,
No choice to fear..

No option to turn back,
Onslaught is the command..
Defeating the gales, the gravity,
Crossing the limits of insanity..

Lion seemingly mouth outcries,
Yelling the thunder of rival’s demise..
As sweat quenches searing gashes,
Blood satisfies earthly wretches..

Trapped in within these walls of atrocity,
An innocent man stands for humanity..
Who doesn’t know anger and hate,
Who wants peace to be his fate..

Humanity is what they mar,
This is the brutality of war..
The one kills is a human,
One who is killed is also a human..

a wounded sodier

Its arguably my best creation so far..
It's something that kills me everyday. We waste so much on artillery, ammunitions to protect our borders - Money, Time, Lives of several people in killing weathers and brutal Wars. But even after spending so much we still are't safe. We still fear our neighbors. We are not sure when someone rages a war with nuclear and biological weapons of mass destruction.

We are cowards ...we can't stretch a hand of friendship.
If we loose our ego, we can stumble down to earth to a sacred place where both the losers can win BIG...
In Pakistan, India, Iran, Afghanistan and the world over thousands of people are dying everyday of starvation, lack of medical care, deprived of education, killed due to natural calamities. We owe them something. They have a right. right to be alive, and lead a life without fear...

We can get nuclear weapons but not bread for the poor...
Shameful...!!
Disgraceful..!!

A dream of a safe place to live in...
